Why Iced Coffee?

So when the sunshine does arrive we need to be ready with the best iced coffee there is, and don't worry we are going to share all our tips and tricks with you, so you too, can have the perfect iced coffee!
The Espresso Machine Method
If you’ve got an espresso machine at home, you’re in for a treat. Here’s how you can whip up an iced coffee that’s so good, you’ll forget all about those pricey café versions.
Ingredients to make that perfect coffee:
- A double shot of freshly roasted Baytown coffee beans; we would recommend using King Street or The Bolts
- Ice cubes
- 200ml of cold fresh Milk (dairy or plant-based)
Equipment needed:
- A glass
- Espresso machine to make your shot. No espresso machine? No problem! AeroPress and Moka Pot are perfect alternatives for brewing a robust iced coffee.
How to Make It:
-
First, Brew Your Espresso: Start by brewing a double shot. If using an espresso machine we would recommend using 18g of your chosen coffee blend, ground on a fine setting. You want a shot time of around 27 seconds at 36g.
If using the Aeropress or Moka Pot method you can find more detail on how to make the perfect shot the classic way in our brew guides. - Once you have the perfect shot, fill your chosen glass with ice and add your preferred milk. How much milk is your choice. If you like a creamy coffee, fill a tall glass or for a more strikingly bold coffee, use a little less milk! We would usually recommend around 200ml.
- Then time to add that delicious shot of goodness - add the coffee on top of the milk. You can create that Instagram effect of the wonderful coffee trickling down!
- Grab a straw, find that sunny spot and enjoy your yummy iced coffee! - Don't forget to take a pic and tag us @Baytowncoffee.
